Description
The 2015 Coachman Festival 580/5 is a superb family touring caravan offering five genuine berths, permanent bunk beds and a cleverly designed layout that gives everyone their own space.
Produced as a Glossop Caravans dealer-special, the Festival combines Coachman’s renowned build quality with additional specification and distinctive dealer-special detailing.
At the front is a large parallel lounge with plenty of room for the whole family to sit together. During the day it provides a comfortable living and dining area, while at night the seats convert into a generous double bed.
Moving through the caravan, the side dinette provides an additional seating and dining area that’s particularly useful for children. At night, this converts into the fifth single berth, meaning there is no need to dismantle the main lounge every evening if only one additional bed is required.
Towards the rear are two permanent fixed bunk beds. Having the children’s beds permanently made up is a huge advantage for family touring, particularly on longer holidays, while their position towards the rear gives younger family members their own dedicated sleeping area. The 580/5 layout was specifically praised in period reviews for its family-friendly bunk arrangement
The rear corner washroom is another particularly clever part of the design, incorporating a cassette toilet, wash basin and separate shower cubicle without taking over the entire rear of the caravan. This allows the 580/5 to combine permanent bunks and proper washroom facilities while remaining on a single axle.
The kitchen is well equipped for family touring, with a dual-fuel hob, oven, grill, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment, together with plenty of storage and preparation space.
Heating and hot water are provided by a Truma dual-fuel system, while the caravan also benefits from a large Heki rooflight, alloy wheels, external BBQ point and external 230V connection.
With five berths, permanent bunks, two separate seating areas and proper washroom facilities, the Festival 580/5 is an excellent choice for families wanting a caravan that works just as well for weekends away as it does for longer summer holidays.
